We are Dark Horse Racing. We used to buy racehorses and sell shares in them to make ownership affordable and fun. We have always been a small and friendly team.

Dark Horse Racing was established in 1980 when it set up the first-ever Racing Club! Back then our name was PSB – Professional Sporting Bureau – and although horse racing ownership has become far more accessible, and affordable over the years, our ethos remained the same – we only ever bought and sold horses we truly believed in. We were dedicated to making a racehorse ownership journey memorable.

Started by Marten Julian and in later years supported by Rebecca Julian-Dixon and then Jodie Standing, our main aim was for our owners to feel a real sense of involvement. Communication was key and with regular updates, videos, photos, stable visits, in-depth race reports and analysis, our owners are with us and their horse every step of the way.

Whether you were interested in a smaller partnership with a handful of like-minded people, syndicates of up to 20 members offering a real sense of togetherness, or a racing club of 100 members or more, we loved dealing with everyone over the years.

Our last two horses are going to the sales in December 2024. Due to health reasons Marten stepped back from racehorse ownership around three years ago and Jodie Standing took over. Jodie is now on maternity leave and the terms have ended for the two horses we were managing.
